I am a bit conflicted about using AI. Not in general. Lucy is very helpful for coming up with bread recipes, workout plans, or building websites. Oh, I do love Lucy. She's so empowering; I feel like a king!
But my thoughts are essentially who I am. My writing expresses my thoughts. And to be honest, Lucy could do it. I've written a summary line, and AI filled in the article. I had to purposefully say, "No, that's my job." AI and I get along when the boundaries are clear.
Yet I realize I'm full of contradictions. I rely 100% on AI to generate the images, and I'm fine with that. I'm not a graphic artist, and there would be no Lucy and Patch series without compelling images.
In addition, Lucy is my writing coach and editor. I use AI to refine my style and proof my articles, true. That's very helpful.
So what's left for me to do? Ah, that is an essential question we will all be wrestling with very soon. For me, my thoughts and creative direction are my sacred space.
I can imagine a graphic artist who creates images and uses AI to come up with a cute story — the mirror of what I'm doing. How can I say that's not acceptable?
It's 2026, and most of what I'm doing relies on AI. Wow, that was fast. Add it to the things I'm not prepared to live without: electricity, modern medicine, my phone, and now AI.
I'm thriving. Hidden talents and interests are coming to the fore. Lucy and Patch are here! But no, Lucy, you cannot write the articles.
