The last couple of weeks, I've been developing with Claude Code, and overall, I'm very impressed.
But it has its limitations.
Some of the database design decisions didn't hold up under scrutiny or could be improved through iteration.
Many of the packages and libraries were near the end of their life. I assumed it would pull the latest packages — no, you can't assume that.
A complicated design still requires some technical know-how. Otherwise, AI may go and figure it out on its own. Very convenient, but it may leave you feeling painted into a corner.
I can't predict how long my technical background will keep giving me an edge. But for now, the benefits of AI far outweigh its limitations — as long as you stay engaged.
