What do you do with AI?
I asked this question at our first Indy AI User's Group meeting this week, and I got a wide variety of answers.
For me, I revamped my diet and workout routine: adding weight training, reducing cardio, and increasing protein intake. Why? I had neglected to research what a 55-year-old's main health concerns should be. AI helped me with that.
I also use it to research investments, make business decisions, learn chess, and build things.
One manager used it for SOW creation and contract review. Another person in healthcare uses it to prepare for meetings and presentations.
The fear that AI will take over jobs and disrupt our society is probably valid. But for those diving in, it's exciting how we can bring our personal history and intellect to AI to build a solution "together."
Is AI a collaborator or a tool? To be honest, I get some good ideas from AI. Sure, I bring my own ideas, but it's surprising how collaborative the process is. AI reacts to my thoughts with feedback that's legit. The end result is better than what I could do alone, and many people in the meeting agreed.
One note about tools: I'm using Claude Code and Opus 4.6 most of the time. Another in our group spoke about NotebookLM. As I mentioned in my post last week, there are many AI tools, and your results may vary. Keep trying new ones and expect rapid advances.
So what's your favorite use of AI?
